MY HUMANE CHOICE- READ MORE WHY IS THERE SENSE IN BEING A HUMANE CUSTOMER? You hardly think of the way the hens are looked after, when atually you buy their eggs, from which you make your omelet now. It doesn’t even pass through your mind that for the whole of their life these hens stay in metal cages, one on top of the other, with no room to move. They hurt and maim themselves, peck off their feathers.
HOW MUCH DOES A CHICKEN LIFE COST, YOU AKS?
Annually millions of laying hens are culled only in Bulgaria. Those are millions of living creatures stuffed into cages.
According to the European regulations, metal cages have to be swapped for barned and free ranged systems. This means, that the producers of eggs have to ensure a possibility for the birds to move freely.
Its another question, that the Bulgarian producer does not feel like investing in animal welfare.
Maybe its not your job to know about the egg, or whether the hen comes before or after it. But maybe it will be a lot easier to know that both egg and hen are ok.MAKE YOUR HUMANE CHOISE
