Num: 94-A-152/09.11.2007 To Mrs. Albena PanchevaCoordinator Intimate with Nature Society Dear Mrs Pancheva, Expressing our gratitude for you letter from month November, which underlines the importance on the subject concerning animal protection and stable development, I would like to present you with the following information: EU supports the ban of products from culled seals as its politics are based on deep scientific recommendations and deductions. The Bulgarian country consecutively states its principal for supporting the politics in the European community on sustaining the ban, implemented with Directive 83/129/EEC for import on products from culled seals, in view of preserving and reinstating the population of endangered types. We totally share the understanding for need on protecting the endangered seal types and the assured preventive ban for import on products from them. In conclusion, we would like to underline that the active position for EU in the international plan is a signal of the importance for the presented subject from you and we assure you of the competent inspections on this from the European community. We highly value the active civil position on our environmental organizations and believe that the Bulgarian country will have its own contribution henceforth for solutions on subjects in context of stable development. From the side of the Ministry of Economy and Energetics, in competence, we have readiness to undertake necessary actions on the area in examining subjects concerning banning import for products from culled seals.
